Jane Hardy is one of those special people who commits her own time to improving the environment and community around her.

Jane is a marine mammal medic, environmental volunteer and open water swimming instructor in North Northumberland. A self confessed “crazy seal lady”, she spends her free time volunteering to keep Northumberland’s magnificent landscapes tidy through organised beach cleans, and its coastline creatures protected through her work as a marine mammal medic.

The video from Discover our Land, follows Jane and her friend, William Shiel of Billy Shiel’s Boat Trips, as they venue to the Farne Islands and take a swim with one of the countries largest grey seal colonies.
