These Girls Can Run

These Girls Can Run is a running group for women set up by Kim Scott, a mum from Cramlington, because she didn’t want to train on her own.

Kim wasn’t born a runner. She hated running at school and has awful memories of cross country and sports days. In her twenties after university she was overweight and unfit and things needed to change. She couldn’t afford to go to the gym so she pulled on her trainers and gave running a go.

This led to Kim creating her ladies only running group that turns can’t into can bit by bit. Catering for all levels from absolute beginners to seasons runners, these groups are open to everyone.

Taking inspiration from the Sport England This Girl Can campaign, the groups break down barriers which prevent women from exercising and provides a friendly, safe and supportive environment for ladies to try running, or get back into running.
